Rhêmes-Saint-Georges Parish Church of St. George

An ancient place of worship in the small town of Hone

The parish church of St. George has very ancient roots, being mentioned as early as in a bull of Pope Alexander III in 1176.
In the 18th century, the building was rebuilt, and in 1742 the Gilardi brothers made the statues of the triumphal beam.
Later, in 1833, it underwent another almost complete makeover.
In 1897, the interior was frescoed by Alessandro and Augusto Artari, well-known painters from Verrès.
Elements of Interest of the Church of St. George   – The three Baroque-style altars, dating from the 18th century, are of carved, painted and gilded wood.

– Numerous sculptures and sacred furnishings of fine workmanship.
