Charvensod Walks along Dora Baltea
Along the banks of the Dora.
The Cammino Balteo is a loop trail of nearly 350 km, divided into 23 stages, that follows the route of the Dora Baltea and its tributaries.
It is a journey of discovery of a lesser-known but fascinating Aosta Valley, where you can admire ancient villages, medieval castles, vineyards and forests. The Sarre – Fénis bike and pedestrian path If you prefer a shorter and easier route, you can opt for the bike and pedestrian path that connects Sarre to Fénis, running along the Dora Baltea for about 20 km.
Along the way you can visit the castle of Sarre, residence of the kings of Italy, the castle of Fénis, one of the most beautiful and best preserved in the region, and other villages and monuments of historical and artistic interest.
The bicycle and pedestrian path is paved and well-marked, suitable even for children and beginners. The Aosta – Verres bike path If you are a bicycle touring enthusiast and want to ride a longer section of the Dora Baltea, you can choose the bike path from Aosta to Verres, for a length of about 50 km and an elevation gain of 750 meters.
