Châtillon Gamba Castle

Gamba Castle is a splendid 20th-century mansion located in Châtillon, Aosta Valley, surrounded by a park of more than 50,000 square meters with rare and ancient trees.
Since 2013, the castle has been home to the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta, which holds a rich collection of works by Italian and foreign artists from the 19th to 21st centuries.   The art collection The Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta has transformed the castle into a museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art, thanks to a major restoration project that has enhanced the interior and exterior spaces.
The museum displays about 150 works, including sculptures, paintings, drawings and prints, from regional collections and private donations.
Among the artists featured are works by Giorgio de Chirico, Filippo de Pisis, Renato Guttuso, Mario Sironi, Giacomo Manzù, Emilio Vedova, Alberto Burri, Lucio Fontana, Piero Dorazio and many others.
The museum also organizes temporary exhibitions devoted to individual artists or specific themes.
