Arvier Walk to Lake Lolair

Lake Lolair is located in the mountains, at an altitude of about 1187 meters above the small village of La Ravoire, 4 kilometers from the municipality of Arvier.How to get to Lake Lolair To reach the starting point of the hike to Lake Lolair, we recommend that you follow the signs to Leverogne by car, then continue through Valgrisenche until you reach the village of La Ravoire. From here, the lake can be reached on foot through a network of trails or alternatively by following a dirt road that meanders up the mountainside to the basin that houses the mountain lake. Nature takes center stage in this mountainous landscape: a dense forest of Scots pines, chestnut trees, downy oaks and ash trees provide the backdrop for the slow walk upwards, which will take you to your destination in about 45 minutes. A natural paradise suitable for everyone Lake Lolair is a perfect destination for a leisurely, undemanding Sunday walk that can please adults and children alike, as the winding track to the lake is passable even with a stroller.
You will notice how the lake is set in a lovely nature reserve that includes a reed thicket that grows all around the water basin and a scree slope that climbs the mountain in the direction of Planaval, a hamlet of Valgrisenche belonging to the municipality of Arvier. Around the pond toads, frogs and numerous families of insects inhabit the lagoon in summer.
While, if you go to the lake in the fall season, you can enjoy the beautiful warm colors with which the leaves of the trees are tinged. Certainly the best time to take a walk up to Lake Lolair is in warm weather, but this area can also be reached in winter on a snowshoeing trip.
