Oyace The History
Its history is thousands of years old.
Known as Agacium in Roman times, it became one of the most important baronies of the Duchy of Savoy in which the Lords of Oyace, about whom little is known, were the greatest feudal lords.
They resided in the castle of Oyace of which memory remains today in the presence of the castellated tower known as Tornalla.
The history is intertwined with its main economic resource: livestock farming and the excellent production of the famous Fontina PDO, a symbol of Aosta Valley gastronomy.
