The Quendoz is a farm located in Jovençan, on the outskirts of Aosta, where the passion for breeding and dairy production has been handed down for generations. Vincent, now at the helm of the farm, continues the work started by his father Elio and grandfather Emmanuel, carrying on a tradition that enhances the land and respects nature.
Fontina DOP and Cheeses of Excellence
At the heart of The Quendoz’s production is Fontina AOC, made in both winter and summer, when the animals feed on fresh mountain grasses in alpine pastures. This attention to detail gives the milk and cheeses a unique quality and flavor.
Over time, the dairy has expanded its offerings to include specialty cheeses such as Quendine, Fromadzo Mégro, La Vieille, and Rebletzen, authentic expressions of the Aosta Valley region.
Breeding and Craft Production
In addition to cheeses, The Quendoz takes great care in raising cattle, crossbreeding the Aosta Valley breed with other beef breeds to make family packs. The farm also raises pigs to produce typical cured meats such as Sauseusse and Boudin, as well as laying hens to ensure a daily collection of fresh, wholesome eggs.
The Point of Sale and Agribar
In 2024, The Quendoz opened its farm store, a space where visitors can purchase the company’s products, from Fontina to cured meats, along with a selection of local specialties such as wines, honey, genepy, and apple juice. In the same year, Agribar was born, a cozy place where visitors can enjoy the company’s cheeses and cured meats, accompanied by wines and craft beers or the best apple juice in the area. The Quendoz is synonymous with quality, tradition and love for the land, a reference point for those who want to discover the authentic flavors of the Aosta Valley.

The Quendoz: A Story of Tradition and Passion in the Aosta Valley
The history of The Quendoz has its roots in the late 1960s, when grandfather Emmanuel, together with son Elio, founded the farm in Jovençan, in the heart of the Aosta Valley. Since 1982, the business has expanded to high-altitude pastures with the management of the Chatelanaz pasture in Vetan, in the commune of Saint-Pierre. This place, cared for by the family for decades, has become a symbol of mountain farming and artisanal dairy production.
An Evolution in the Sign of Tradition
In 2016, Vincent, having completed his university studies in France, joined the family business, bringing innovation and renewed motivation. After the passing of his father Elio in 2020, Vincent took over the leadership of The Quendoz, tackling with determination the responsibility of preserving and developing the family legacy. In the same year, Vincent realized an ambitious dream: buying the Chatelanaz alpine pasture, further strengthening the link with the land and imparting new energy to the farm.
Today: Solid Roots and Looking to the Future
Today, The Quendoz is a growing company, firmly rooted in tradition but with an open eye to the future. The production of high-quality cheeses, the enhancement of the territory and the commitment to sustainability tell a unique story of family and passion for the Aosta Valley.

Visits & Tastings
Guided tours of The Quendoz farm can only be taken during the winter period. The experience provides an opportunity to get up close and personal with the daily reality of the farm and includes:
- A tour of the barn and stable, with a detailed explanation of cow management
- the tour in the dairy, where the process of processing milk to make cheese is shown
- A visit to the cellars where the cheeses are aged
The visit can end at the Agribar, where you can taste the farm’s cheeses and cured meats, accompanied by wines, craft beers or local apple juice.
