Located amid unspoiled beauty in Bionaz in Valpelline, Alpe Rebelle is the fruit of Ilenia and Daniele’s experience and passion.
After nearly two decades of running the Crête Sèche Refuge at 2410 meters, a place accessible only on foot, and after years of working on the snowy slopes at the foot of the Matterhorn, in 2014 they decided to start a new reality: their dream of hospitality and sustainability came to fruition with the renovation of their grandparents’ house in Chez Chenoux, where they now welcome travelers and mountain lovers.
A Restaurant with Rooms in Harmony with Nature
Alpe Rebelle is not just a place to stay: it is a true refuge for the body and spirit.
Nestled in the tranquility of the mountains, the facility is designed to respect and enhance the surrounding environment, with a focus on sustainability.
Thanks to the use of cutting-edge technologies such as geothermal heating, solar panels and a natural lighting system with light tubes, the Alpe Rebelle is a concrete example of harmony between man and nature, with an “A” energy rating.
The restaurant offers dishes that speak of tradition and territory, with ingredients sourced directly from the family farm.
From the freshness of the vegetables to the potatoes harvested between September and June, from homemade jams to the genuine flavors of organic and fair trade coffee.
Even the water has a story to tell: it comes from Chez Chenoux’s private spring and, after being filtered and checked, becomes one of the stars of our table.
Every detail at Alpe Rebelle is designed to reduce environmental impact, from the larch tables not covered by tablecloths, cleaned with a water steaming and ionization system, to the choice of unrefined, stone-ground flours to make our white bread.
Everything reflects the care Ilenia and Daniele put into preserving the delicate balance of the mountains.

For Ilenia and Daniele, the mountains are not just a place to work, but an integral part of their life and identity.
Daniele, an experienced mountaineer and mountain man, describes his connection to the peaks and forests with emotionally charged words, “For me, the mountains are life, fun, passion and suffering intertwined creating a vortex of unique emotions that I cannot describe. Even more mysterious is the feeling of attraction that binds me inextricably to it.”
This passion is reflected in every aspect of their hospitality and the care they take to make guests feel part of this special ecosystem.
Rebel Park: Discover Fun in Nature
But Ilenia and Daniele’s love for the mountains does not stop at hospitality.
Together with their family and their four children, they created Rebel Park, a unique adventure park nestled among rocks and trees.
This space is designed to bring young and old closer to the natural world through play and adventure.
Here, among suspended trails and challenges in the midst of nature, guests can rediscover the mountains in a new light, having fun and learning to respect the elements that make it up.

At Alpe Rebelle Restaurant you can immerse yourself in the authentic flavors of the Aosta Valley, savoring typical dishes such as the world-famous Seuppetta alla Valpellinentze.
Our simple, wholesome menu offers a selection of local specialties such as polenta, game dishes and fine Aosta Valley cheese, with a special focus on Fontina di alpeggio.
To accompany the dishes served in our cozy dining room, you will find a well-stocked cellar of local wines.
And to round off your meal in the best way possible, you can sample the region’s typical liqueurs, such as Grappa and traditional Valdostan-style Coffee.
