In Gressan, a picturesque commune at the foot of Aosta and the Pila Mountains, fruit growing has thrived for centuries, finding ideal soil for apple cultivation. Our apple orchards, located near the “Tour de Villa” castle, the Roman tower “De La Plantà” and the Church of Gressan, extend in small plots distributed among these historic sites. The headquarters of the company is located in the Torrent locality, at the foot of a moraine planted with vines, dominated by the votive chapel dedicated to Saint Grato, erected by our ancestors in 1914. In 2018, thanks to a major investment, we completed the renovation of our corporate headquarters, allowing us to welcome customers for direct sales and independently manage the production, storage and selection of our apples. Recently, we have expanded our activities with an artisanal workshop dedicated to the production of apple juices and jams. The natural environment that surrounds us is a great ally: the pedo-climatic characteristics of the Aosta Valley favor the growth of fruit with excellent organoleptic qualities. In addition, cold winters and low summer rainfall reduce the risk of disease, minimizing the need for phytosanitary treatments. We adopt integrated pest management cultivation practices and adhere to the agri-environmental measures of the Aosta Valley Region. Since 2021, we have been certified by the National Quality System of Integrated Production (SQNPI), which attests to the use of sustainable and environmentally friendly cultivation methods.
The History Saint Grat Farm
Deep Roots
Our farm has deep roots, born from the union of our paternal grandparents at a time when agriculture was primarily a subsistence activity. The family took care of the vineyards, apple orchard and fruit trees located on the properties of "Verdjé," "La Bagne" and "Campagne" at Toron. In this context, at the foot of the moraine planted with vines, stands the votive chapel built in 1914 by our ancestors and dedicated to St. Grato. It was here that the cultivation of apple trees became the main activity of the family, carried on with passion by their children Alda and Ivo. Even today, the farm maintains its family-run operation, preserving the agricultural tradition handed down from generation to generation.

The Ritual of Harvesting: The Art of Care in Our Apple orchards.
Our apple orchards are located on small plots where, over the course of the fall, we harvest apples of different varieties and thus different colors, scents and flavors in stages, having reached the right degree of ripeness.
Harvesting is manual and hides gestures that are not taken for granted.
Apples are delicate … and do not want to be tugged!
Picking them requires accompanying them upward, pirouetting them gently, without squeezing them and then, laying them down slowly so as to avoid bruising.
Harvesting takes place in September and October.
A hectic time; one works all year long to make the best of these few weeks, during which the fruit is harvested.
