A Journey Through History and Nature The Trail from Bard The adventure begins by leaving the car near the village of Bard, then taking the trail that climbs in steps, passing an imposing rocky drop.
This initial section requires some effort, but rewards hikers with unique views and the feeling of literally walking through history.
The trail then continues on comfortable ledges, from which to admire the village and the Fortress of Bard from an unusual and decidedly fascinating perspective.
Rock Flora and Enchanting Views As you proceed to the Issert locality, the trail offers glimpses of rock flora, testifying to the rich biodiversity of the area.
These natural ledges offer not only interesting terrain to explore, but also unique opportunities to closely observe plant species typical of rocky environments.
Toward Albard di Donnas Past the cottages of Valsourda, the trail reaches Albard di Donnas along a quiet little road.
From here, hikers can choose to continue on trail 6A toward the locality of Rovarey, then arrive at the medieval village of Donnas, also crossing the vineyard trail (trail marker 103A).
This last part of the trail is rich in history and offers a beautiful conclusion to the hike.
