Sarre Becca France – Fallarè Lake
Toward the Lake
It leads to Lac Fallère, a beautiful mountain lake enclosed in a basin at the foot of Mont Fallère. After leaving your car near the hamlet of Thouraz, you take a gravel road that climbs as it enters a forest of larch and birch trees. After a few minutes, you reach a farm road on the right but continue straight on, letting yourself be charmed by the Mont Fallère in front of you . Continuing on the same road, you pass above an alpine pasture (1750m) and, after cooling off in the beautiful waterfall of the Clusellaz stream, take a path that cuts a couple of hairpin bends from the road but rejoins it after a few minutes. Upon reaching a marker post, you turn right onto a path that enters the cool forest and crosses a stream. You begin to ascend the pastures as the forest slowly thins and, leaving the last larch trees, the path tends to the left reaching the Morgnoz pasture (2050m). Passing it, we continue in the natural direction of our walk until we find a yellow arrow indicating to turn right onto a path that ascends the pastures below Mont Fallère. The path ascends, with a series of switchbacks, to the alpine pastures of Tza de Morgnoz (2276 m) and soon after crosses a large clearing. From here it starts climbing again to the right. You pass near a water collection pool and climb the last stretch of trail until you see the shimmering, clear water of Lake Fallère. Unlace your shoes and dip your feet into the cool waters of the mountain lake!
