Courmayeur berton refuge

This route is perfect for families and also for the less experienced: A charming walk to the Bertone Refuge that climbs gently and without danger along the Val Ferret, while giving you unique views of the Mont Blanc chain.

The Bertone also lies on Alta Via 1 and marks the start of the final section of the Tor des Géants, one of the world’s most famous ultra trails that takes place punctually in our beautiful valley.

Leaving the car in the hamlet of Plampiciuex, follow the paved road for a few meters and cross the wooden bridge where you will find trail marker no. 31 for the hut and here take the trail. You then climb up to Alpe Lauché and continue on the trail to the right. Soon you reach a hill,and here you can pause to enjoy the panoramic view. From here you must descend on the other side until you reach Rifugio Bertone.

Please note that it is also possible to reach the hut by starting from Villair Superiore -Courmayeur, and following trail marker No. 42. But this route is recommended for more experienced hikers, with an elevation gain of 664m.
