Gignod Buthier – Alpe and Chaligne Refuge
Buthier - Alpe and Refuge Chaligne a hiking route all to discover surrounded by nature
Starting from the highway to the Great St. Bernard Pass, take the road to Buthier and park your car in the lay-by located in Buthier Gorrey (1375 m).
From here, take the trail that soon joins trails 3 and 3A at the hamlet of Clemencey.
Continue steadily uphill until you reach the Mendey Alp (1547 meters above sea level).
From this point, turn left following path no.
3A, which alternates between sections on a farm track and trails, crossing pastures and coniferous forests.
This trail leads to the Chaligne Refuge, located in the village of the same name.
From here, numerous hiking opportunities open up, the most famous of which are Chaligne Peak and Metz Peak.
