Saint-Vincent Col de Joux

The Col de Joux is a beautiful alpine pass located between the municipalities of Saint-Vincent and Brusson at an altitude of 1640 meters.
Specifically, the pass joins the central valley of the Dora Baltea with the Val d’Ayas, and more specifically the municipality of Saint-Vincent with the municipality of Brusson.
Starting from the Châtillon Highway Tollbooth and turning right toward Saint-Vincent, one can embark on a fascinating journey through the natural beauty of the Val d’Ayas and Central Valley Valleys.
Leaving the car in the parking lot near the striking Chapel of the Partisans, take a snow-covered track through a small park.
After ignoring a detour to the left, the trail continues slightly uphill in the direction of Mont Zerbion, offering breathtaking views of the central valley and Mont Emilius.
Amidst larch forests and majestic spruce trees, continue to the second fork, keeping on the main trail.
Along the way, you can admire striking views among the vegetation.
Passing the village of Fromy, nestled in a beautiful clearing, you resume the ascent into dense forest, where the play of sunlight creates striking chiaroscuro effects.
Following the wide beaten track, we finally reach the Ru Courtaud water loading tanks, from which we take a descent that will lead us to the Col de Joux.
