Brusson Comagna Head from Col du Joux

  Discover a fascinating and scenic hike in the Ayas Valley, starting at Col de Joux.
This route offers a unique combination of unspoiled nature, forest trails and spectacular views culminating with the arrival at the summit cross, a symbol of achievement and contemplation.
Approach To begin this adventure, take the exit for Verres on the Turin-Aosta highway and follow the signs for Val d’Ayas to Brusson.
From here, head toward Col de Joux and leave your car in the parking lot near the pass.
This starting point is easily accessible and provides an excellent base to begin the hike.
Route Description From the parking lot, just before Col de Joux, take Trail 1b, which may initially appear poorly marked.
Continue along the dirt road and keep an eye on the right for a small man-made pond.
At the next fork in the road, if there are no signs, take a path to the left that winds slowly through the pine forest.
Soon you will find a sign on a rock indicating the entrance to a well-defined and marked mule track, which begins to climb gradually toward the destination.
The trail will take you through a variety of landscapes, from dense pine forests to open spaces with breathtaking views.
Upon reaching a plateau equipped with a wooden bench, you can rest while enjoying the tranquility of the place and prepare for the last stretch.
From here, in a few minutes, you will reach the ridge and finally the summit cross, a perfect place to admire the vastness of the surrounding Alps.
