How to get to the Cross of Saint Gilles

Once you leave your car in one of the parking lots outside the historic center, you walk down the street of the old village until you reach a small square.
From here you turn left and past a portico, walk down a wide flight of steps that runs alongside the collegiate church of Saint-Gilles.

You go up the right bank of the Evançon stream until you reach the regional road to Val d’Ayas, cross it, and begin to ascend the path that enters theArboretum La Borna du Laou You begin to ascend the area following the wooden railings that lead into the coniferous and deciduous forest

Lungo la salita si trovano delle panchine che permettono di godersi scorci sul castello e il vecchio borgo.
Dopo aver superato alcuni tratti scalinati, si oltrepassa un ponticello e si prosegue fino a raggiungere una biforcazione.
Qui si svolta a sinistra e si percorre, in leggera salita, il tratto di sentiero che ci separa dalla Croce di Saint-Gilles, posta su di un poggio roccioso molto panoramico.
