Description of the Route: The walk begins in Epinel, where taking the mule track marked number 23 leads to the impressive ruined tower of “Mougne.” This historic stretch, which also passes the underpass of the picturesque Cogne-Pila railway, leads through a rich and varied natural environment. Through the Woods and Pastures: Continuing the walk, you enter a dense coniferous forest that occasionally opens up to reveal wide pastures, perfect places to observe local flora and fauna and picnic in the open air. The well-maintained trail provides an enjoyable and undemanding walk, suitable for hikers of all ages and abilities. Panoramic View: As you approach Gimillan, the view becomes more and more impressive. From here, you can see the majestic peaks of Gran Paradiso and Grivola, two of the most recognizable symbols of Gran Paradiso National Park.
