Passeggiata cascata di Freney Avise

Avise Freney waterfall walk

A breath of fresh air at the foot of Mont Blanc

A trail that leads to spectacular waterfalls, a piece of paradise where nature reigns supreme.
This step-by-step guide will take you through an easy but incredibly rich hike with breathtaking views, ideal for all lovers of nature and outdoor walks.
The Starting Point Your journey of discovery to the waterfalls begins shortly after Cerellaz, where, at a noticeable curve to the left, you will find the parking area of the picnic area.
Here you can leave your car and get ready for the adventure that is about to begin.
In front of the parking area, cross the road and descend for about 20 meters until you find the little pole with the yellow sign marking 7a and 7b, which will point you in the direction to the falls.
The Trail to the Falls The trail is accessible to all, descending gently to about 1100 meters, where you will be faced with a fork to Equilivaz (trail 7a).
Ignore the fork and continue straight along 7b, where you will find a clear sign on a stone: “Cascades.”
From here, the trail crosses a scree and begins to climb, offering you the constant and imposing company of the Mont Blanc range.
The Arrival at the Waterfalls The last section of the trail becomes a bit more challenging with a series of narrow turns that are a bit steeper, but the reward for your efforts is at hand: the waterfalls.
In front of you, the water rushes rushing by, a true spectacle of nature.
To the right, the flow of water is channeled into a conduit covered by a metal grating.
If you wish to get closer to take a picture, be careful of the metal covered with a greenish slimy layer, which is very slippery.
Tips for a Safe Visit Equipment: Although the trail is considered easy, it is always a good idea to wear hiking shoes or otherwise suitable for walking in the mountains.
Safety: If you decide to approach the falls for a photo, proceed with caution, especially if the metal is wet or covered with slippery algae.
Respect for Nature: Remember to leave the trail and surrounding areas as you found them, taking any trash with you.
Return After admiring the falls and perhaps taking a few memorable photos, the return is via the same trail.
This hike is not only an opportunity to discover one of the hidden wonders of the Aosta Valley but also to reconnect with nature and admire mountain landscapes of incomparable beauty.
The hidden waterfalls between Saint Nicolas and Avise represent a must-see destination for anyone visiting the Aosta Valley, offering a relaxing yet exciting walk suitable for the whole family.
