Pont-Saint-Martin Holay Nature Reserve
A Natural Enchantment
Holay Nature Reserve, established in 1994, is located in the Municipality of Pont-Saint-Martin at an altitude of 750 to 790 meters, near Suzey Castle, and covers an area of 1.5 hectares.
What you can find inside the Holay Nature Reserve This small wetland is home to species such as the Marsh Reed, Greater Lysca, Isolepis setacea and Lythrum portula, the latter found only here in the Aosta Valley. Despite its small size, the reserve has two rare specimens of amphibians, the Spotted Newt and the Crested Newt, unique to the Aosta Valley. To reach the reserve, you can take the regional road to Gressoney from the center of Pont-Saint-Martin, then turn right toward the hamlet of Ivery and continue to Holay.
