Approach Your adventure begins in Planaval, where, after following the paved road, you will reach the hamlet of La Clusaz at 1660 meters.
Here, after the first bend, you will find space to park along the edge of the road.
Route Description From the hamlet, the Alta Via trail no.
2 takes off.
Clearly marked, this route will guide you through a spectacular mountain environment of rocks, waterfalls and wooded sections.
Leaving the forest behind, you will arrive at the remains of the Benevy mountain pasture at 1950 meters.
The trail continues to climb gently, passing a few water intakes until you reach Alpe Glacier at 2163 meters.
Here, the trail enters a marshy plateau and climbs a scree slope, approaching the Chateau Blanc Glacier.
Continuing on, you will reach the Baracche di Fond alpine pasture at 2340 meters.
From here, the trail heads toward the Planaval pass, but for this hike, you will turn right at the next fork to quickly reach Lac du Fond at 2439 meters.
The Return The return follows the same route as the ascent, allowing you to relive the beauty of the landscape from a new perspective.
