Mont Avic Mont Avic is a mountain in the Aosta Valley with a distinctive profile that immediately attracts attention in the immensity of the landscape.
This peak is situated in an unspoiled and unique environment, in a protected natural area that develops in the territories of Champdepraz and Champorcher.
In 1957 some young people from Champdepraz placed a statue of Our Lady, donated by the Ivrea section of the CAI, on the peak of Mont Avic, at 3,006 meters above sea level.   The emblem of Mont Avic Park Mont Avic is the emblem of the park of the same name, which takes its name from the princely mountain that represents it.
The ascent to Mont Avic within the protected Natural Park is not for everyone.
The route is available along two routes, both with some sections where you have to climb.
Due to the difficulty of the route, it would definitely be best to undertake the climb with the accompaniment of an experienced hiking guide, who would also be able to advise you on the right mountaineering equipment and the right environmental and weather conditions for the trip.
The first ascent on the tip of Mont Avic dates back to September 24, 1875, when Martino Baretti, G.Bovio and Ernesto Santelli tackled the route together with three miners from Champdepraz.   How to get to Mont Avic To reach Mont Avic, from the Turin-Aosta highway, you must take the exit for Verrès.
From here, continue for a few kilometers on the regional road until you turn for Champdepraz.
