Parco del Mont Avic

Champdepraz Mont Avic Nature Park

Mont Avic Nature Park

Mont Avic Park, the first nature park in Valle d’Aosta, was established in October 1989 in order to conserve the natural resources found in the middle-high valley of the Chalamy Torrent (municipality of Champdepraz).
The Park is not only home to the region’s largest hoary pine forest and 14 lakes including Le Grand-Lac, the largest natural reservoir in the entire Aosta Valley, but is also the natural habitat for the golden eagle and the chough.
At the entrance to the park, at Chevrère in Covarey Locality is the Visitor Center, where there is a nature museum, films and photographs, and a multipurpose room.

THE park attracts hikers and visitors attracted by spectacular nature and an incomparable variety of landscapes: the largest forest of hook pine in the Italian Alps, numerous streams and lakes – including the Great Lake one of the largest natural basins in the Aosta Valley – peat bogs, pastures and high-altitude rock sites
