Saint-Nicolas Musée Cerlogne
A center of art, culture and poetry
The museum, located in the village of La Cure next to the parish church, houses personal items of the Aosta Valley poet Cerlogne and other dialect writers of the past.
This valuable collection was curated by the late Renato Willien, a writer, theater man, photographer and founder of the museum as well as the Center for Francoprovençal Studies in 1967, which is now located in the village of Fossaz-Dessus.
Beneath the museum, an old vaulted barn has been converted into a gallery for temporary exhibitions, inaugurated with works by sculptor Carlo Gadin, an artist who continues the local tradition.
Cerlogne’s tomb is located in Saint-Nicolas, near the front of the church, and his spirit still lives on through the culture and language he so loved.
The museum is a tribute to this great poet from Valle d’Aosta and to all those who have dedicated themselves to preserving the roots of the local community.
