Saint-Oyen Parish Church of St. Eugendo
Parish Church of St. Eugendo, a church rich in history, to be discovered
The 1,000-year-old parish of Saint-Oyen, named after St. Eugendo, boasts a history dating back between 1137 and 1176, as confirmed by a papal bull of Alexander III.
The church has undergone restoration over the centuries, with a rebuilding in 1820 and a major renovation in 1990.
A priceless treasure is the 17th-century silver reliquary, partially gilded and embellished with crystals, the work of a skilled Swiss artist.
Donated in 1636 to the temple by the provost of Great St. Bernard Roland Viot, this splendid artifact testifies to the devotion and cultural richness of the religious community of Saint-Oyen.
