Brusson Parish Church of St. Maurice

A religious destination

Historical and Artistic Treasures of the Church of St. Maurice in Brusson In the heart of Brusson, a small town nestled in the mountains of the Aosta Valley, stands the Church of St. Maurice, a building that holds centuries of history and art.
Rebuilt between 1870 and 1873, this church is a cultural and spiritual landmark for the local community and visitors.
History and Architecture Reconstruction and Design The original structure of the church dates back to the 15th century, but it underwent a significant transformation in the late 19th century.
Architect Giuseppe Lancia was in charge of the reconstruction project, which introduced modern architectural elements while maintaining the historic spirit of the place.
The bell tower, with its distinctive octagonal pyramid spire, was rebuilt in 1882 after being destroyed by lightning, adding a unique visual character to the church’s profile.
Decorated Interior and Works of Art Inside, the church of St. Maurice is a veritable museum of sacred art.
The Artari brothers of Verrès decorated the interior, creating a rich and inviting environment.
The 18th-century altars, carved in wood, painted and gilded, are among the most valuable pieces, showing the skill of local artisans of the time.
