Start at Colle di San Carlo
The adventure begins at Colle di San Carlo, where, in front of the Genzianella hotel, you will find the entrance to the dirt road marked No. 15. This path winds gently within a lush mixed forest of fir and larch trees, offering a relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere from the very first steps. Arrive at Lake d’Arpy
After a walk immersed in the silence of the forest, you will arrive at Lake d’Arpy, a jewel of the Alps that suddenly opens before visitors’ eyes. The trail skirts the left bank of the lake, allowing you to admire the calm waters reflecting the sky and the surrounding mountains. Toward Redstone Lake
Continuing on Trail No. 15, after crossing the stream that branches off from the lake, the trail turns to the orographic right and begins to climb gradually. This part of the trek offers panoramic views that become richer as you ascend, with the flora changing in appearance and the views opening up more and more toward the alpine peaks. The trail finally reaches the shores of Red Stone Lake, situated in a more elevated and spectacular location. This lake, less well known than its neighbor d’Arpy, is a small paradise for those who enjoy the tranquility and solitude of the high mountains. Its deep blue-green waters are framed by steep rocky slopes, and the site is perfect for a picnic or simply a moment of contemplation. Return to the Colle di San Carlo
After spending time in this idyllic corner of nature, the return is made by taking the same trail in the reverse direction back to the Colle di San Carlo. The descent offers a chance to relive the views already admired on the way out, but with a different perspective and the light changing the hues of the landscape.
