Quota B.P. is a forested area nestled in the Lo Tsatelet Nature Reserve, covering a hill from which there is a wonderful panoramic view of Aosta.
This area is very easy to reach: it will take just 45 minutes of walking starting from theArch of Augustus, at the gates of the city and going up in a northeast direction.
The climb to the top of the hill is rather steep, but short.
The elevation gain is 175 meters, and once you reach the location of Quota B.P., you will realize how gentle, flat and very large (14 hectares) the summit is, suitable for a picnic with friends.
Somewhat interesting is the presence of a mound located south of the reserve.
It would appear to be a tomb from the Salassa period (Iron Age, 7th – 5th century B.C.), and this clearly testifies that an ancient settlement occupied this very hill in the late Neolithic period, fifth around 3000 B.C.
Do you know why Quota B.P. is so named?
The name of this place comes from the name of the founder of Scouting: Baden-Powell.
In fact, it was the Scouts of Aosta to hand down this appellation, and today everyone calls this hill that.
