Pontboset Shrine of Retempio

The Retempio Sanctuary is a small building dating back to the first half of the 19th century, the destination of a traditional pilgrimage on July 2.
From the shrine, there is a splendid view of Mount Rosa and the Matterhorn.
How to reach the Sanctuary of Retempio Leave your car in the parking lot in front of the town hall, follow the paved road through the village and down to the Ayasse stream.
Continue along the road skirting the stream and then take the old mule track on the right.
The mule track leads to the villages of Creux and Crest di Sotto with a steady gradient (the last section is replaced by a new road under construction).
Before reaching the houses of Crest di Sotto, follow a path to the left along an ENEL pipeline to the bottom of the valley where you cross the Brenve stream over a bridge.
After the steps, continue on the path to a fork and take a left, passing the ruined huts of Larsine and reaching the pastures of Retempio (1474 m).
