Torgnon The pond of Lo Ditor

Lo Ditor pond, an enchanting natural jewel, is located in the Chavacour valley in the municipality of Torgnon, at an altitude of about 1900 meters.
This wonder is surrounded by forests, grasslands and a steep cliff face.
Due to the presence of valuable habitats, such as the limestone springs of the “Cratoneurion,” it has been included in the Natura 2000 network.
A 2700-meter scenic trail with a 160-meter overhang leads to a breathtaking view of the pond.
Along the way, you can admire spectacular landscapes, larch forests and alpine pastures.
It is possible to complete a full tour in about 45 minutes, but it is advisable to take more time to fully enjoy the beauty of the place and read the information on the information boards.
The ideal visit is during the months of July and August, when the blooms are at their peak, but autumn, with its vibrant colors, offers an equally impressive experience.
To reach Lo Ditor Pond, follow regional road no.
46 from Châtillon to Antey-Saint-André, then turn left toward Torgnon.
Continuing toward the high villages, you arrive at the starting point of the trail.
