La Salle Tsanta Merla
Between Art and Nature
The Tsanta Merla Trail, located in the heart of the Aosta Valley, offers a unique experience combining nature, art and adventure.
This trail is especially popular with families with children, thanks to the many wooden sculptures that enliven the path, creating a magical and inspiring atmosphere for young explorers.
The works, created by talented local artists Eliseo Lumignon of La Salle and Piero Remondaz of Morgex, depict gnomes, mushrooms, animals and funny characters that seem to come to life along the trail.
Route and Points of Interest The Balteo Trail The trail starts from Via Chanoux in La Salle, following the signs of the Balteo Trail, a well-known hiking route through the region.
Immediately after crossing the road going up the hill, the trail continues on a paved road until it reaches Croix des Pres, where the chapel of Notre Dame de La Guerison is located.
Here, take a small road to the left that leads to the entrance of the Tsanta Merla trail.
Through the Magic of the Forest Along the trail, visitors can admire sculptures that create a dialogue between art and the natural environment.
Among the colorful mushrooms and trees, one discovers elves, owls and hearts, elements that enrich the walking experience and enchant especially the younger ones.
Panoramas and Scenic Points The trail is about 1.5 km long and offers splendid panoramic views of the hamlets of Villair and La Ruine Alta, in the municipality of Morgex.
The walk is relatively easy, but it is recommended to walk it during the cooler hours of the day during the summer to avoid excessive heat.
It is important to note that due to a steep descent to Villair, the trail is not suitable for strollers, but it is possible to detour to La Ruine Alta for a more accessible alternative.
