Châtillon Walk to the hamlet of Promiod
A Place Rich in History!
It is a place rich in history: in fact, here are the remains of a medieval tower, which belonged to the Challant family, lords of the Aosta Valley.
The tower, built in the 13th century, had a defensive and territorial control function.
Today only a few ruins remain, but its strategic position and imposing appearance can still be admired.
Promiod: starting point for hikes and excursions Promiod is also an excellent starting point for hikes and excursions in the mountains.
In fact, several interesting destinations can be reached from here, such as Mount Zerbion, Portula Pass, Champlong Lakes, and Clavalité Sanctuary.
Mount Zerbion is a peak that offers a 360-degree view of the giants of the Aosta Valley, such as the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa, and Gran Paradiso.
The Portula Pass is a pass that connects Valtournenche with Val d’Ayas. The Champlong Lakes are two bodies of water nestled between forests and mountains.
The Clavalité Shrine is a place of worship and pilgrimage dedicated to Our Lady of the Snows.
